Privacy Policy

This website takes the protection of your personal data seriously. The following notes explain what data is processed when you visit nikadaimages.com, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Hosting and Server Log Files

This website is hosted by an external service provider in the EU. When you visit the site, the hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in a technically error-free and secure presentation of the website. Log files are routinely deleted by the hosting provider.

3. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze how visitors use the site (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information). IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. The information generated is generally transmitted to and stored on Google servers; transfers to the USA are safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics at any time by installing the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

3a. Local Settings

Apart from analytics, a single technical setting (your light/dark mode preference) is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is never transmitted to us or to third parties.

4. Contact by Email and Photo Requests

If you contact us by email or use the photo request form (which opens your own email client), the data you provide — such as your name, email address, company and the content of your message — is processed solely to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries). Your data is not passed on to third parties and is deleted once the purpose of processing no longer applies and no statutory retention periods prevent deletion.

5. External Links

This website links to external services such as Getty Images, iStockphoto, Instagram and WhatsApp. When you follow these links, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply. Licensing transactions take place exclusively on the platforms of Getty Images and iStockphoto.

6. SSL/TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" prefix and the lock symbol in your browser's address bar.

7. Your Rights

Within the scope of the GDPR you have the right to information about your stored personal data (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing (Art. 21). If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for Thuringia this is the Thüringer Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit (TLfDI).

8. Updates to this Policy

This privacy policy is reviewed and updated when the website or the legal situation changes. Last updated: July 2026.
